When You Love Your Job, You Don’t Work a Day in Your Life…

This holds especially true for me as I start a new chapter in my life and launch Kerri King Consulting.  You can learn more about it in a recent blog post

Most recently I held the position of CEO at Station Gallery. Over the course of my time at Station Gallery, I worked with the SG team to develop new, innovative programming and exhibitions, introduce new digital programs, create new studio spaces, launch a new brand, and embrace new social media platforms.

In April 2019, I co-created Durham Women’s Network alongside Jennifer Gaskell to give women a space to connect, collaborate and support one another. Since the launch of the Facebook group, the network has grown to over 5,000 women across the Durham Region and continues to grow.

I was able to express my passion for arts and culture through my work with Durham Tourism. During my tenure as Tourism Manager at the Regional Municipality of Durham, several collaborative initiatives were launched with the help of my team. From 2009 to 2015, The Art of Transition provided a platform to connect the creative community, and in 2015, the Durham Festival, which was part of the 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games.

 Award-Winning Frame of Mind

I’m extremely proud of the awards I have won for the work I have done for my community. Together with the Durham Tourism team, we earned numerous provincial (EDCO) and national (EDAC) Economic Development Marketing and Business Achievement Awards. I was also awarded the prestigious YWCA Women of Distinction Award in 2002, a Region of Durham Award of Excellence for Innovation for creating The Art of Transition and a Gold Quill Award of Merit from the International Association of Business Communicators for my work in economic development and tourism.

Career Designations that I’m Proud Of

I’m honoured to hold an international Economic Development Designation through the International Association of Economic Developers, and to continue to share the knowledge I have gained as a guest speaker at Durham College, UOIT, University of Waterloo Economic Development and York University.

Where it All Started: Community Building

My community involvement includes being the past Vice-Chair of the Durham Community Foundation and the Economic Developers Association of Ontario as well as a past member of the Board of Directors of the Regional Tourism Organization for Zone 6, Central Counties.

That’s enough about me! What about you? I love hearing stories of journeys to self-awareness, personal successes and even failure. All are powerful learning opportunities. I encourage you to connect with me, and share YOUR story and maybe our connection will open new doors for us both to get one step closer to freedom!

With love and light...
