Freedom 55 is a GO!

On February 1, 2016, I stepped through the front doors of Station Gallery in Whitby keen to find my place in the world of art. It’s been a wild and wonderful ride!

Over the past five-and-a-half years at the gallery, I’ve had the opportunity to connect deeply with the rich and talented artistic community in Durham Region—one of the great blessings of my career.

We did some outstanding work together, and I know in my heart that I am leaving the gallery in a better place. Together we created innovative new programs, designed and built fabulous new spaces, and forged many new partnerships and friendships.

Most notably, I am extremely grateful to have had the honour and the privilege of working alongside my colleague, dear friend and Station Gallery Curator, Mr. Olexander Wlasenko.

Over the years we had many meaningful conversations about music, life, love, loss, family, and of course art and artists. We shared so many laughs and had great fun enjoying the simpler things in life—like cabbage rolls and coffee, wings and beers at the pub with Professor McQuay, and of course a penchant for wacky socks.

After events, Olex and I would sit together late into the light chatting and listening to music, sharing ideas and stories and talking about life in general. These are the moments that I will miss most about working at Station Gallery.

Friday, September 1 was my last day at SG.

I am deeply proud of all that we accomplished during my tenure as CEO.

Now the time has come for me to explore my next adventure; and I am delighted to share that I’m retiring from corporate life to return to my entrepreneurial roots.

I’m super-stoked to launch my brand new creative consulting business that will allow me to work on a myriad of fun projects and events from anywhere in the world.

This is my dream.

It’s scary and exciting at the same time…wish me luck!

Those that know me well know that I measure success by how much fun I’m having….and I can’t wait to dive into this exciting next phase of life. It’s time.

I have been working quietly for the past six months on a personal passion project—and I’m excited to share it with you in the coming months. Stay tuned!

I look forward to staying connected with you as I embark on this exciting new journey.
